Have you ever felt like one day you're going to drop off your daughter at the vet, and bring your golden retriever to ballet class?

You're not alone. These days our lives are too busy and hectic for even the most well-organized person to stay on top of. Everyone (including me) needs help keeping track of appointments, contact info, and to-do lists. So I've rounded up three personal information managers (PIMs) from ZDNet Downloads that can turn even the most disorganized life into a model of order.

Active Desktop Calendar places a calendar on your desktop as your wallpaper. You can customize the calendar's appearance, keep your schedule on it, set alarms to remind yourself when meetings or other appointments are coming up, type notes to yourself, and more. (Shareware/Windows)

Time & Chaos is a great, do-it-all PIM that tracks to-do lists, appointments, and contacts. It also integrates with other software to send faxes, perform mail merges, and print mailing labels. (Shareware/Windows)

Ultra Hal Assistant is a PIM with a twist. Not only can it create reminders, store your phone numbers, and track appointments, but you can talk to it as well. It can use many different voices and animated characters. (Shareware/Windows)

The next time you're so distracted that you nearly put your dog in the microwave and take your popcorn out for a walk, try these personal information managers. They'll help you get your life under control.
