Before the holidays, I wrote about software that helps you manage digital photos on your PC. Once everything's organized on your computer, handhelds provide a nice way to show off your favorite pics.

So today I've got three apps that let you store and view photos on your PDA. This is a great way to share what you did over the holidays with your friends and coworkers. Use these apps, and you'll never have to carry around unwieldy envelopes of photos again.

All you have to do is load your images from your PC or digital camera onto your handheld, and you're ready to go. These programs will not only allow you to view your photos, but some even give you the ability to create slideshows and photo albums from the palm of your hand.

If you're looking for an easy way to bring your holiday photos with you, I recommend these programs.

Resco Picture Viewer for Palm lets you view a wide variety of image formats, which you can import to your handheld directly from your digital camera. It also allows you to view slideshows and add your own sounds in WAV format. (Shareware/Palm)

ACDSee Mobile for both Palm and Pocket PC gives you the ability to quickly pick the photos you want to see from a thumbnail page. You can then fit the image to your PDA's screen, or view the entire image in its original size. (Shareware/Palm/Pocket PC)

PicturePerfect allows you to view your photos, create photo albums, and make slideshows right on your Pocket PC. Like ACDSee, this one offers thumbnails of your photo collection, so it's easy to find the shots you want to show off. (Shareware/Pocket PC)
